A spot of moorland bird-spotting.  Last night's quick evening drive into the peak District saw a few of my favourite birds - Curlews, Lapwing, a couple of Redpoll and my first swifts of the season!  A lovely sight to behold, and a sure sign, I hope, that summer is on the way! Wheeling and diving through the sky so effortlessly, catching a few evening insects on the wing.  We didnt spot the Little Owl which we saw alot of last summer, but maybe he'll show his face once the weather is warmer.
